Nvidia settings for Projection VR

Note: The VizMove PC is shipped pre-configured with the settings shown on this page            


Latest Nvidia driver tested and confirmed working by WorldViz for P- and M- series Quadro GPU's

Tested under Windows 10 64-bit version 1809


Nvidia Driver installation


In the event that drivers need to be reinstalled, run the Nvidia installer and select ‘Custom Install’. Select  ‘Clean Installation’ and uncheck all boxes except the ‘Graphics Driver’ and the ‘HD Audio Driver’.


Nvidia Control Panel


Right click on the desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel.


Display > Change Resolution


Create a custom resolution of 1280 x 720 @ 120 Hz (Important: It needs to be a custom resolution even if it already is an existing option)

-> click on 'Customize...'

-> check ' Enable resolutions not exposed by the display'

-> click 'Create Custom Resolution...'

-> ensure all projectors are checked

-> Horizontal pixels: 1280 Vertical lines: 720 Refresh rate: 120

-> click on 'Test'

-> confirm the resolution works

-> ensure all projectors are set to the new custom resolution


3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings


The following stereo and render settings are recommended by WorldViz for VizMove projection systems.


Anisotropic filtering: 4x

Antialiasing FXAA: Off

Antialiasing Gamma Correction: On

Antialiasing Mode: Override any application setting

Antialiasing Setting: 8x

Antialiasing Transparency: Multisample

Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Texture Filtering - Negative LOD Bias: Clamp

Stereo - Display Mode: On-board DIN connector

Stereo - Enable: On


After setting Stereo - Enable to on a restart of the PC might be required for it to work. Check a simple Quadbuffered script to ensure stereo is working after changing these settings.

Workstation > Synchronize Displays


Note: The Synchronize Displays option is only available when GPUs are connected via G-Sync cards.


When working with multiple GPUs, the timing signals across all GPUs in the system need to be synced in order to get stereo working across displays. Each Nvidia Quadro card has a G-Sync option card that it’s connected to via a ribbon cable. The G-Sync cards are daisy chained together via standard CAT5 cables plugged into the external RJ45 connectors. The following is a warning from the Nvidia documentation:


Note: WARNING! The voltage and signal on the frame lock ports are different from Ethernet signals. Do not connect a Frame lock port to an Ethernet card or network hub. Doing so can cause damage to the hardware.


Single machine system:


Under The timing server is, click the On this system radio button. Select the checkboxes for displays to add as clients and then click Apply.


Multiple machine system:

The timing server is the machine that’s connected to the 3D glasses emitter. On that machine under The timing server is, click the On this system radio button. Select the checkboxes for client displays and then click Apply.


On all client machines, under The timing server is, click the On another system radio button. Select the checkboxes for client displays to lock to the server and then click Apply.


Note: The timing server needs to be the last step in the setup. Mosaic, Scalable, etc. need to be configured and engaged before setting up the Nvidia sync.
